  27.     I agree with this totally.  The users of Apple, Amiga, Warp, 3.1/Win95/NT,
  28.    Unix/Linux/Minix/Solaris/Irix/ETC!,  and various other systems may not get
  29.    along BUT the market benefits from having many different choices on the 
  30.    market.  Do you think Microsoft would have taken so long to put out Win95
  31.    if they had a serious competitor?  Would Apple be so diligent in upgrading
  32.    7.5 without the looming shadow of Win95?   Would the cost of Apples now 
  33.    be halfway decent without the competition from Pentiums?  Would Pentiums
  34.    be nicely priced if only Intel made the systems?  Would AmigaTech be trying
  35.    so hard to update the OS if it were still the bad boy on the block?

  37.     The list goes on.   I may not like or use other operating systems or 
  38.     hardware configurations but I am glad that they exist, even if I only
  39.     care that they spur on my system of choice.  Heck, if AT doesn't bring 
  40.     down the price of the new 4000T's and they shrink wrap the new OS to 
  41.     use PPC.. I'll buy a PowerMac.

  43.      Competition is better for EVERYONE.

  45.     If Apple is in trouble and they get bought out, I think Apple computer 
  46.     will survive.  Just like the Amiga has.  It might even be better if they
  47.     do... just like I think AT/Escom is already doing a better job than 
  48.     Commodore did.. but that's not *that* hard.  :)   They seem to keep us 
  49.     a bit more informed of their plans than Commodore, who didn't keep us 
  50.     informed,  or even seemed to care, at all.  Apple may benefit from a 
  51.     stronger company that can actually make enough computers to meet demand
  52.     and perhaps even price them more competitively.
